May 2025 is set to be a fun-filled month with lots lined up for Environment Enthusiasts, Wildlife Conservationists and Nature Evangelists. It is also a great month to introduce concepts of conservation and spread awareness about the lesser known species and what wonderful way to start the month other than the International Macaque Week that is lined up for the first week of May 2025, but wait up...that's not all this month is packed with events and it ends with a bang on 31st May 2025 being World Parrot Day!


Let's Delve Deeper into what we're looking forward to in May 2025 as nature lovers!


  1. International Macaque Week

    Celebrated every first week of May, International Macaque Week is a chance for individuals and organizations to promote understanding and respect, to spread the word, and to fundraise for their macaque advocacy efforts! This year the theme is #RespectTheirNature and #stopmonkeyselfies

  2. World Tuna Day

    World Tuna Day is celebrated annually on May 2nd. The day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2016 to raise awareness about the importance of tuna conservation and promote sustainable fishing practices.

  3. International Leopard Day

    A lasting legacy of the Global Leopard Conference, International Leopard Day on May 3rd was officialised and endorsed to give it a permanent and meaningful place on the global wildlife calendar, enabling higher awareness, promotion and celebration of leopards worldwide.

  4. World Migratory Bird Day

    World Migratory Bird Day 2025 promotes the importance of a healthy coexistence between humans and birds by focusing on creating bird-friendly communities and cities.

  5. World Biodiversity Day

    The International Day for Biological Diversity is a United Nations–sanctioned international day for the promotion of biodiversity issues. It is currently held on May 22. The theme of the International Day for Biodiversity 2025 is "Harmony with nature and sustainable development"

  6. World Turtle Day

    Let's Shellebrate®! World Turtle Day® is May 23, 2025 sponsored by American Tortoise Rescue! Reduce Plastic Use is the theme for 2025 as it is One of the major threats to turtles, especially sea turtles.

  7. World Otter Day

    World Otter Day occurs on the last Wednesday of May, which is May 28 this year. Otters are beautiful, playful animals that live in wetlands across the world. Species are declining due to habitat destruction, reduction of prey, roadkill, and illegal trade for fur and as pets. India has three otter species: the Eurasian otter, the Smooth-coated otter, and the Asian small-clawed otter.These three species are among the 13 otter species found globally.

  8. World Parrot Day

    World Parrot Day 2025 is on May 31st, which will be a Saturday. This day is celebrated annually to raise awareness about the threats facing parrots worldwide and to celebrate their beauty and intelligence. World Parrot Day was originally founded 2004 by the World Parrot Trust and has been adopted by many organisations aiming to promote parrots and highlight the threats they face in the wild. Join and help with more voices for parrot conservation.
