If you feel warmer this summer than you did in the last, It's time to think about what you can do this Earth Day to lessen the stress that Climate Change brings, so your children, your pets or you yourself don't have to feel a little warmer next year. What can you do? Protect Biodiversity.

Did you know? The Earth's Biodiversity is its natural defence against Climate Change. Here's what you can do, one step at a time

Support Pollinators: Plant a variety of flowers that bloom at different times of the year to provide food for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators crucial for plant reproduction and healthy ecosystems. Avoid pesticides that harm them. #pledgetoprotect #pollinators

Create Wildlife Habitats: Even in small spaces, you can create mini-habitats. A shallow dish of water can help insects and birds, and a pile of leaves in a corner in your garden can provide shelter for small creatures. #pledgetoprotect #wildlife

Reduce Your Carbon Footprint: Climate change is a major threat to biodiversity. Walk, bike, be a carpool hero or use public transport more often. Choose energy-efficient options and advocate for renewable energy sources. #pledgetoprotect #earth

Avoid Invasive Species: Be careful about the plants and animals you introduce to your garden or environment. Invasive species can outcompete native ones and disrupt local ecosystems. Learn about local invasive species and how to manage them. #pledgetoprotect #nativespecies

Choose Sustainable Products: When buying wood, paper, or seafood, look for certifications (like FSC for wood or MSC for seafood) that indicate they were harvested sustainably and with minimal impact on biodiversity. #pledgetoprotect #marinelife

Respect Wildlife in Their Natural Habitat: Observe animals from a distance and never feed or disturb them. Avoid activities that can damage their homes or cause them stress. #pledgetoprotect #respecttheirnature

Advocate for Green Spaces: Support the creation and protection of parks, forests, and other natural areas in your community. These spaces are vital for biodiversity and provide essential habitats. #pledgetoprotect #urbangreenspaces

Reduce Light Pollution: Excessive artificial light at night can disrupt the behavior of nocturnal animals and insects. Use outdoor lighting sparingly and direct it downwards. #pledgetoprotect #reducelightpollution

Be Mindful of Water Runoff: Reduce impermeable surfaces around your home to allow rainwater to soak into the ground. This helps recharge groundwater and reduces polluted runoff that can harm aquatic ecosystems. #pledgetoprotect #rainwaterharvesting

Support Organizations Protecting Biodiversity: Donate to or volunteer with local or international organizations dedicated to conserving endangered species and their habitats. Your support can directly contribute to conservation efforts. I personally volunteer with WWF-India. #pledgetoprotect #volunteerfortheearth

We (Humans) are not the owners of creation, rather, “the earth is the Lord's, and everything in it” (Psalm 24:1)

We (Humans) are the stewards of the earth, summoned by God to, “work and take care of the earth"  (Genesis 2:15 )
